Background

Naftali Bennett registered a party under the temporary name Bennett 2026 on April 1, 2025 (Jerusalem Post, 2025-04-01) and its registration filing listed goals of restoring security through an active security doctrine and integrating all citizens into the security, civic and economic burden (IDI, citing the Parties Registrar). On April 26, 2026 Bennett and Yair Lapid announced a joint list called Together, Led by Bennett, with Bennett as the candidate for prime minister and Lapid at No. 2; the two had led the 2021 to 2022 rotation government (Times of Israel, 2026-04-26). Kan reported that the agreement allots Yesh Atid 10 of the top 24 places and lets Lapid split off after the election (Jerusalem Post citing Kan, https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/politics-and-diplomacy/art..., 2026-04-28). Polls in late April put the joint list at about 24 seats; by early September polling put it at 13 to 15 seats behind Eisenkot's Yashar (Times of Israel, 2026-09-02). Between late July and September 3 at least nine Yesh Atid MKs said they would not run or left the party (Ynet, 2026-09-02; Jerusalem Post, 2026-09-03).
